Loss of another 1979 Classmate

We've lost another EHS classmate close to the class of 1981. David True passed away in Enid on February 13. Our condolences go out to Deb and the entire True family. Below is his obituary.

A Memorial Celebration for the Reverend Father David H. True, 44, Enid, will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Viewing will be held Wednesday, Thursday and until 4 p.m. Friday at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Father True was born on May 21, 1961, at Mt. Clemens, Michigan, the son of Stephen F. and Mary Helen True, and died Monday, February 13, 2006.

He grew up in Enid and attended Eisenhower and Hoover Elementary Schools, Waller Junior High School, and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1979. Father True attended St. Gregory's College in Shawnee, later transferring to Oklahoma State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1983. Father True attended St. Meinrad's School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana, where he earned a second Bachelor of Arts and later received a Master's Degree in Theology from Oblate School of Theology, San Antonio, Texas. Father True was ordained at the Cathedral of The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City on June 4, 1988. He served the parishes of St. Charles of Boro-meo, Oklahoma City, Blessed Sacrament, Lawton, St. Peter, Woodward. Father True was Pastor at the parishes of St. Francis Xavier, Sulphur and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kingfisher.

David is survived by his parents, Stephen F. and Mary Helen True of Littleton, Colorado; three sisters, Kathryn and her husband, Rick Allen of Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth True of Littleton, Colorado, and Deborah and her husband, Justin Cromwell of Enid. He is also survived by five nephews.

Memorials may be made in Father True's memory to Our Daily Bread with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
